InovaPrint Wash with Ceramic Filled Resin

Modified on Fri, 22 Aug at 4:42 PM

When using Ceramic-filled resins for dental applications, like denture teeth and temporary restorations, we face a key challenge: cleaning them with IPA (isopropyl alcohol), which often results in a frosty, chalky surface due to ceramic particles surfacing.

To address this issue, Jimmy Stegall tested InovaPrint Wash, a non-alcohol, non-flammable solvent, as an alternative. However, using InovaPrint Wash and leaving printed parts for too long in it can also cause frostiness, so he experimented with dilution ratios to optimize results.

His optimized cleaning procedure involves:

  1. After printing is done, he recommends blowing off excess resin with an air syringe,

  2. Ultrasonic cleaning using a 60/40 mix of InovaPrint Wash and water,

  3. Brushing twice—once after ultrasonic, once while rinsing under water,

  4. Drying the parts carefully.
